Head Coach Playoff Recap Flatbush Trims Hesch Heat Flatbush 4, Heschel 1, 6-7-22 Western Division Champion Heschel Heat's playoff season was cut short in the semi-final last night by the favored Flatbush Falcons, 4-1, with Heschel’s Satin Captain, Senior Max Rabin, evolving his smooth strategy mid-match, sprinting to the net on key points from 7-7 to finish off the Flatbush #1, Gentleman Moe Sutton, 10-7. William Rose successfully attacked his opponent’s second serve while the whipping wind played havoc with his own. Struggling to keep his usually pinpoint runaround forehands to the ad court consistent, he was squeezed out of contention at #2, 8-10. Resolute Alexander Potter played even with his #3 adversary until sabotaged by leg cramps at 6-7, after which he nobly soldiered on to a 7-10 demise. The doubles tandems of Ethan Hess/Noah Wishengrad and Jeremy Lindenbaum/Oliver Green fell 2-10 and 5-10, respectively, to two teams which knew the net and revived (did it ever die?) the hoariest aphorism of doubles strategy: “the greatest folly is not to volley.” The Boys Heat season concludes in a blaze of appreciation by the Coaches and AD for the Heschel players’ spiritual fire and competitive desire to play fairly and win grandly. Thank you, teammates. For a season of inspiring victories and treasured memories. Head Coach Everett Sherman Heschel Heat Can’t Be Beat
