Tonight in the Varsity Group A quarterfinals The Frisch Cougars traveled to take on The Central Wildcats.  Both teams came out strong and determined to advance to the next round of the playoffs.  The Frisch Cougars came out fighting and commanded an early lead in the first couple of minutes of play.  Frisch's tough defense would go on to hold The Central Wildcats top shooters, Leora and Batsheva Itzkowitz from scoring their average points per game.  Late in the fourth quarter Central rallied back to bring the game within two points with only 10 seconds to go.  Junior forward, Naomi Butler was fouled with three seconds left of regulation play sending her to the line where she would go on to hit both free throws thus tying the game and sending it into overtime play.    

Both teams fought hard in overtime however, Frisch's tough defense and shooting in the last minutes of play would not only allow them to secure the victory but also help them to advance into the next round of the playoffs.  Both teams fought hard and played tough until the last second of play.
