Storm Out-Battle the Warriors
2/15/2018 12:38

Wednesday night, February 14th saw the upset-driven Magen David Warriors come to the WeatherCenter to take on the TABC Storm. The game started with play mostly even, until Zach Levy picked the top corner to give the Storm a 1-0 lead at 3:44. For the next 3 minuets, MDY was relentless, forcing TABC coach Norm Blumenthal to burn a timeout. After the time out, the remainder of the period’s play was even, and TABC headed to the locker room with the 1-0 advantage.

In the second period, the play began to shift TABC’s way. Goals by Shlomo Gellman and Zach Levy gave TABC the 3-0 lead after 2. Had it not been for the MDY goalie making some incredible saves, this could’ve gotten ugly quickly.

The third period brought more of the same. TABC kept up the pressure, and despite their bests efforts to fend off the attack, MDY didn’t have enough. Shlomo Gellman scored his 2nd of the game, and Jake Rothenberg, Baruch Karpov, and Yosef Fleischman all got in on the scoring action, netting goals of their own. However, MDY went down fighting, scoring a goal with under 6 minutes remaining in the game.

TABC’s 7-1 victory was thanks in part to the sustained offensive pressure of Ezra Seplowitz, Ben Englander, and Ving Levy, the stout defense from Yonatan Naor, Natan Rifkind, and Eli Blumenfeld, and the stellar goaltending from Charles Gibber, Daniel Dresdner, and Jonah Elzweig. The MDY goalie, really kept them in the game, making incredible saves with his head, as well as his glove.

TABC awaits the winner of SAR @ HAFTR  in the semi finals.
