Flatbush 66-HAFTR 52

The Yeshiva of Flatbush Falcons were able to prevail in its first round matchup versus the HAFTR Hawks 66-52. The Falcons got off to sluggish start in the first quarter as the Hawks tight defense forced the Falcons into several tunorvers and miscues. HAFTR took an early 5-3 lead on a Jason Abraham 3 pointer. However Flatbush was able to get things going to close out the first quarter and take a 12-9 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Falcons would never look back as it built a 10 point lead heading into Halftime. Flatbush came out strong in the third quarter stretching its leads out to as many as 20 points. But the  HAFTR Hawks showed a lot of resolve and clawed its way back into the game on the sharp shooting on Jason Mishkin (20 points) and Shai Laniado(11 points). The Hawks shrank Flatbush's double-digit lead to 9 points with a valiant run of its own. In the end Kevin Haddad of Flatbush who led all scorers with 36 points, Abie Rosow's 16 points, and the rest of the Flatbush team had enough answers to allow the Falcons to advance in the playoffs.
