After a number of scheduling difficulties, DRS finally made the trip to YDE at Magen David Park. The sun was shining, the concrete was freshly paved and umpire Neil was ready to go. But it would be no easy task as DRS barely made the playoffs and could only hope that they could stop the undefeated YDE Thunder. A sellout crowd of about 50 filled the stands of YDE and made sure their voices were heard througout the contest. DRS thought they had jumped out to an early lead after star player Eli Roz launched a thundering two out blast off the back of the wall for a two run homerun. However, upon appeal, Neil ruled rightfully so, that the DRS runner had missed third base before any runs came in. YDE became extremely and utterly freightened of Roz on went in to intemtiomally wall him twice. So with the game tied at 0, now in the bottom of the second inning and the bases loaded with two out , in steppe the hot hitting second baseman. He lined a hot shot right to third- but Akiva aryeh leaped to make a miraculous grab and hush the fuming YDE fan base. In the fifth, karma struck at YDE as they two hit a blast of the wall in left field. The runner was on his way to third when Roz fired an absolute heat seating missile into Aryeh's glove to nab the runner. The entire neighborhood commenced to argue the call with Neil- but to no avail. The game continued to reman scoreless until the top of the fifth, when Benny Miller stepped up to the plate with two out and runners on second and third. On an 0-2 count, he ripped a liner up the middle to score Natey simintov, who finished 3 for 3 on the afternoon with a run scored. But YDE wouldn't go down without a fight and the bif lefty stepped up to the plate with men on first and second and two out. Big Papi lined one against the shift into left field, but again Eli Roz made a spectacular running catch to again silence the YDE faithful. Roz said after the game, "it's funny how baseball works. U get robbed of a two run Homer and then get intentionally walked twice. But I just want to thank Hashem and my parents for believing in me and giving me the ability to make some plays that really helped the team." The bottom of the order was due up for YDE and Benny Miller shut the door 1-2-3 to end the game and complete the upset. It was definitely a game to remember. Mincha services concluded an epic afternoon.
