MYHSAL Girls Varsity Champions SAR High School beat Frisch 32-31 in a very hard fought victory. After completing the regular season with a 10-2 record and placing first in this year's Cooper Memorial Tournament, the Varsity Sting beat Ramaz in the quarter finals and upset the number 1 seeded Flatbush in the semi-finals to advance to the Championship game held at TABC last Thursday night. The Sting took an early lead and looked to be dominating the contest, with stifling defense and and timely baskets. At that point, the refereeing took over, and many fouls began to be called on both sides, resulting in players fouling out on both teams. Frisch battled back and with under a minute left the game was still in doubt as Frisch came within one point by draining all 3 foul shots off a questionable call. With extreme poise,SAR managed to hold their lead throughout and pull off the win.
