It was on an early Sunday morning that the battle for the JV Hockey Central Division lead took place between the Flatbush Falcons and the JEC Thunder, and the fans in attendance got quite the show, as both teams played a smart, entertaining, and hard fought game.

Both teams got their chances as solid play and close calls, where par for the course, as the JEC Thunder hit two crossbars and 2 posts, while the Flatbush Falcons also managed a crossbar late in the game.

Ultimately, however, this hard fought game came down to late second period penalty which would be called on the Thunder with 6.5 second left in the second period. With the face-off in the JEC defensive zone, the Thunder managed to win the faceoff forward allowing sophomore Elisha Schmutter to pounce on the puck and beat the Flatbush defense to the off wing, and with precious seconds ticking down, Schmutter found himself in alone on the Flatbush goaltender, and as he has all year, he made no mistake, scoring a shorthanded goal, to give the JV Thunder the lead in the game.

Taking their slim one goal lead into the third, the Thunder managed to keep a strong forcheck going with the help Freshman Sammy Simcha and Sophomores Aryeh Marcus and Shmuel Weinberger. In the end however, one goal was all that would be needed this day as the JEC JV Thunder managed to hang on and take home the win,

Lastly, it would be remiss to not mention that once again, the JV thunder continued to ride solid goaltending from Sophomore Alec Seidman and superb defense from All Star Sophomore, puck moving defenseman Netanel Kramer, and his defensive partner Yitzy Hershkowitz
