Wednesday night in Elizabeth NJ with not a cloud in the sky, a thunderstorm was brewing, as the JEC JV Thunder played host to YDE Thunder in round two of this battle for meteorological supremacy, and, while both teams appeared to be ready for their early season rematch, when the game began it became clear which team brought the thunder and which team was thunderstruck.

It was the JEC JV thunder that struck early and struck first, with a goal by Elisha Schmutter within the first minute of play. Schmuttter, who would finish the night with a hat trick, followed up his early goal with a shorthanded tally midway through the first to put the thunder up 2-0. From that point on it was all in the hands of Sophomore forward Aryeh Marcus who had 6 goals on the evening ,including 3 shorthanded, giving the JEC JV Thunder a commanding 8-1 lead after the two periods of play.

The JV thunder would close off their evening with yet another shorthanded goal from Sophomore Elisha Schmutter, giving the JEC a total of 5 shorthanded goals on the evening, and with goals from All Star defenseman Netanel Kramer and Sophomore Shmuel Weinberger to bring the game to an 11-1 conclusion.

Honorable mention should go out to the Freshman Offensive duo of Josh Schanzer and Michael Lowinger who provided a solid forcheck throughout the night.  Additionally, it was the solid, and reliable, goaltending of sophomores Alec Seidman and Sammy Friedman, that once again provided the JV thunder with all the security they needed in net.
