The JEC Thunder rebounded from their loss last week to get back in the win column with a 3-0 victory over SSLI. The game started out slowly, with both teams getting few chances and not scoring in the first period. JEC came out on fire in the second and Avi Roth quickly put them on the board with a nice goal on a partial breakway. Not long after, newly acquired Yoni Apsen made his presence immediately felt with a beautiful goal-- top shelf off a reboud to make it 2-0. Mordechai Sheinson finished the scoring with a goal from the point later in the period. The third period was scoreless, with goaltending sensation Jason Silverstein coming up with some nice saves, including 3 in one quick sequence. The defense, led by Yitzy Zwickler, helped maintain the shutout and secure the victory.
