Good Early Season Encounter
11/17/2015 6:55

The Heschel Heat visited Frisch in an early season encounter of two teams with high aspirations this year. The game did not disapppoint. The Heat came out of the gate using their pressure defense and fast break game to take a 13-6 lead after one period but last year's Saracheck Champion showed their experience and depth and drew to within two at the half 25--27. It was a tight game from that point on until a 3 from  Sr. Sam Schwartben gave The Heat a 2 point lead with under a minute remaining, before Frisch Sr. Andrew Langer went backdoor with under 10 seconds left, was fouled and calmly sank both free throws to send the game into Overtime. From then on it became the Sam Schwartzben show as he scored 10 points in the overtime, finishing the game with a career high 30 points as well as 13 rebounds. The 6'3 Sr. is the only player on the Heat over 6"1 and he certainly came up BIG in this early season game. Sr. point guard Aaron Brandeis chipped in with 14 and the two combined for 5 of the Heat's 8 threes. Langer was the main force for Frisch especially in the second half where he scored 13 of his 21 points. Jr. center Sam Fishman came off the bench to chip in with 13. The Heat continue to play early season big games when they entertain TABC Sunday at 4 P.M
